Finishing off bits and bobs, completing fitting of lighting cellars etc
Information posted by the Friends of George Street about events and activities at the former Independent Methodist Chapel at George Street, Oldham by Age UK Oldham. The early posts describe the works to conserve, restore and adapt this Grade ll* Listed Building betwee 2012-13. Restoration works were supported by a grant from the HLF, with match funding from the Andrew Lloyd Webber Challenge Fund, English Heritage and the Architectural Heritage Fund as well as Viridor Credits and Lloyds Bank.

Day 214 - Adjusting Lights

All the lights are being tested and adjusted inside and out. And of course it is wet today!

Day 211 - New Light Fittings - Original Ceiling Roses
Week 43 - Day 211
The new light fittings were put up today. The original ceiling roses also returned after being cleaned of years of over painting with whitewash and paint.
There are three 5 branch fittings and two 3 branch fittings. The 5's are in the main body of the chapel and the 3's either side of the organ.

Day 185 - New Deliveries - Lighting
Week 38 - Day 185
The new lights for the chapel were delivered today. Have to wait a bit before they are fitted and we can see them in their full glory.
