Day 186 - The Importance of Good Drainage

Week 39 - Day 186
There had always been a problem with drainage and damp on the George Street elevation.
We have tried to tackle this four ways. By tanking and coating the inside of the walls, dry lining, raising a lip around the access ways to the windows and doors and putting a drainage pipe under the floor to carry away any rainwater that collects in the wells.
The drainage pipes were put in whilst the floor was being lifted earlier in the woks programme. Today the drain was connected up.
